Changing colored gauges?

I was wanting to put a set of indiglo colored guages in my 99 eb explorer. I was wondering how much work and time this would consist. Most of the sets that I have seen in books says that the instructions are universal and may take more info to install??? Can a back yard mechanic install these??

Yes you can do it, if all else fails you can pick up a haynes or chilton manual for your explorer, and it will tell you how to take apart the gauges. Make sure the indiglo set you get is for your year explorer.

I'm pretty sure BigTigs write up on installing these in the important threads section. Its pretty easy to do, just takes a little time. First time doing it took me probably an hour. Now I can get it apart and back together in 20 minutes. Not including time to mess with the gauges
