I am trying to change the dome light on 05 Explorer, I took off the plastic cover but there is two little blocks that wont allow me to manage to get my fingers to the dome light to replace it. I guess the point of these are to reduce glare or something. Is there an easier way to do this? I can upload pictures if anybody doesn't get what I mean by the two little plastic pieces that block access to the bulb.

Edit: Here is a pic, as you can see the little plastic piece sticking up.

Hm im not sure, I was thinking maybe it was like the 2nd gens overhead console where you gotta like pop the cover off, and then "unscrew" the socket for the light....sorry man cant help ya but im sure someone knows :D

i dropped hte whole overhead (its just held in my metal clips, it pulls right off), and i cut those plastic pieces off for better light dispersment for my LED's.

Thanks, I also see where the garage door clicker would be there is a screw and text next to "unscrew to service console". Would I have to unscrew that?

I would.. Worst case you have to put them back in lol

I did it.. still no luck!

Can anybody help me? I really need to replace my dome lights! Thanks lol :)
