that's something I always wondered about re-gearing...

is it just the diffs? or do you have to do something to the tranny aswell?

Si

well that's saved me a huge headache... I was thinking about ordering the 4.10 stuff and then getting someone to strip my tranny n fit it all... but if it only goes in the diffs, then that's ok... phew... that's 2 retard moments in 1 night.. I'm doing well

Yes you are:thumbsup::thumbsup::D. What gears do you have now? I'm not sure about over there in the UK, but a lot of the sohc explorers over here had 4.10's from the factory so you might be able to find one with the 4.10's already in the axles and swap the entire things over. It will be a lot cheaper than new gears.

Blueka -- You live in England and Canada--- Before commute I really would look into a very long snorkel for your rig :D

right now i have 3:73s and i want to upgrade to 4:10s. has anyone done this yet? what gears do you need in the front diff?

i would go 4.56 if you spend all that time and money and 32x11.50 is pretty close to 33s,your like the 4.56 better and if you ever go to 33s your be glad you did

is there any way to buy a locker for the front diff, and are they expensive

yes but if you put one in the rear your need a open carrier.im looking into just putting a minispool in the front to save money

how much is the mini spool and what do they look like

nevermind i looks like they dont make a minispool for the front d35.im probally going to weld mine but i also will be runing manual locks for the front.but here is a link for aussie lockers, witch i will be running in the rear.if you dont do alot a 4x4 i would just throw one in the rear and call it a day

well its gonna be a hunting truck and my 4x4 truck so i would much rather have a locked front diff. you cant just put clutch packs into the front?

You can get a LS for the front diff or use a lunchbox locker or pony up for a detroit or go all the way and get selectable. Don't weld it or try and put a spool in it. Makes turning VERY difficult. You pretty much would have to get out and unlock a hub if you ever needed to turn on ground with any traction, on mud it will just push. Even if it's just a hunting rig, the front end solid makes for a HUGE PITA.

where could i get a LS for the front diff? and what is a lunch box locker?

dont know about a ls but a lunch box is just a locker like the aussie.the link above has them.but if you run a locker i would get manual hubs so you can unlock one tire for tight turns
