Edit your post.. We use
format. Nice truck though.. Maybe we'll see you around in Maryland.

Cannot open your pics but maybe you can get a friend that has changed oil and filters to help you out.
The oil drain plug is nowhere near the filter, good luck
got pics now, the last one looks like the oil drain plug, sort of

where is your's located spindle? maybe this will help me find mine. Thanks for the fast replies also everyone.

The oil drain plug is on the pass. side of the oilpan, middle edge, 13 MM, the filter is on the same side, back furthur up under the frame rail.
I recomend that you warm the trac up off the jackstands and drain the oil with it on the level

Ok that is where this plug is so im guessing its the one if not, im screwed :D Thanks for all the help my truck brother. By the way it looks like its gonna hit my pass. side wheel (the drain it about 10in away from the wheel itself it looks to be pretty much at an angle looking down at the wheel itself) do you know if its gonna shoot out or if its gonna just drain normal?

will not hit the tire, glad to see you have some decent jackstands but the OEM jack is wicked dangerous for what your using it for, have fun

Yea i was scared to use it myself but its the only jack i have at the moment i have a 10ton jack in the shed in the backyard but lack the keys  and i only have acouple hrs till the other car will be in the garage ('87 Mercedes Benz 560 SL AKA "The Beast")

what i usually do is jack mine up on the Driver's side so i can get underneath it,

i pull the plug and change the filter then i get out and lower the jack down and let the oil drain for a bit, jack it back up and put the plug in and voila'

i usually go ahead and grease the steering linkage and balljoints as long as i'm under there

Thanks Ford Guy i will try that.

Sorry another question. I wont need a compression gasket will i? i couldnt find an answer on the forum search. Thanks.

For what, the plug has a perminant neoprene gasket that should be okay, the filter has rubber gasket smear a little oil on that one and make sure the old gasket comes off with the filter

Sweet thanks again. And man is that plug a ***** to get off. i guess i will have to pull out the mc HAMMER!
