To remove the plug wires from the spark plug itself or the coil pack? When I changed my plugs and wires last year on my 05 EX 4.0L, the plug wires just popped off the the spark plug end after I turned them back and forth on few times to loosen them up and on the coil pack end, you just squeeze the two tabs together and pull off the plug from the coil pack. BTW, my old plugs and wires were OE Ford with the wires numbered 1 thru 6 like yours. I also didn't have any clips on the ends of my plug wires other than at the coil pack end. Spark plug ends just slide on and you feel a little "pop" when they seat themselves on the tip of the plug.
