Just a heads up for anyone replacing aftermarket Spark Plug Wires (which can use the same length more than once) with the stock Motorcraft set (WR6096) which uses a different length wire for each cylinder. From shortest to longest the wires go to cylinders 4, 1, 5, 2, 6, 3.

Soo what's the best type to use? I have a 2002 XLT 4.0 V6 & when I changed mine, it was a PITA.
I forget what brand aftermarket I used but the passenger side where I started first went smooth, it was the driver side that sucked.
One wire was really long, one was sorta ok & the last was just a bit tight but I managed to make ot work.
Next time I'm thinking of going OEM but I kno that's also $$$.

I've had issues with aftermarket plugs and wires, so I stick with Motorcraft. I got them at O'reilly's for about $60. I believe I later saw them listed cheaper on www.sarad.com (search site for WR6096). I've bought other Motorcraft parts from them online in the past and have been pleased with the service, but it looks like they only take orders over the phone now:

"If you would like to order parts for your personal van or truck, call us at: (718)-485-5003. "

I installed "Autolite Professional Series" wires I bought from Advance Auto Parts 3 years ago and had no problems installing them on the V-6 4.0L. I've had no problem using them as well. Pretty sure they come with a 5 year warranty. They cost $45 and you could probably get them cheaper by using an online coupon from www.couponcabin.com and order them online from their web site and pick them up at a store nearest you if you have one near you.

I just had a set shipped to my door from RockAuto.com for $38. Well, ok, $38 plus a few bucks shipping.

Thanks for this post OP. Good info and I'll be doing this later on in the week.

$38 plus a few bucks shipping.

I just looked at rockauto.com. Shipping is $12 (to AZ anyways). $50 shipped total, for future reference.

Would anyone know the size in inches for each wire?
