That's very unique! What kind of paste did you use to glue them back on? Where did you get the Aerostar lettering on the rear panel?

I let the paint dry for 2 days, then I put a little drop of Plastic Welder (15 minute set time) epoxy on each corner, and top and bottom center of each emblem, (west, east, north & south). Solid as a rock.

the "Aerostar" graphic came on the van, I've seen another one with it, so it must be factory.

wow, I didn't have to go through all that trouble!, I just removed the emblems without heating them, just pryed them off the base, (they had a soft sticky glue, looked like some type of white caulking to me), sanded the blue paint with wet sandpaper under the faucet, blue paint came off easily, and what's more, my emblems are not "stickers", so other Ford truck emblems must be made with a different manufacturing process.

I went to the salvage yard and pulled 4 more to test other colors. I'm thinking Lite Prairie Tan Metallic would look good too. (goldish tan).

i've done several of them. i have never heated them either. just pry them of carefully. i've always just sanded the back of them with 180, or 220, painted an let dry. i have even used a jack of spades from a deck of card for a background on the back side of it before gluing it back together for a forum member.

PICTURE!?!?! That sounds sweet!

That's awesome!

OK, now I want to try it with a carbon fiber look.

I like bright mustard yellow myself.

I have an idea. Mount a 12 volt 7 color LED behind the emblem after you remove the paint, and wire it to the parking lights/headlights. It will change colors every few seconds while you drive at night. It won't be noticeable during the day, so it's not worth running it full time.

I've actually seen the LED types at Autozone and online.
