Hey guys, I just got some bulbs off ebay for 14 bucks or so, and installed next to my piaa superwhites they are whiter and brighter. Check out the pic... its bad... but you can tell. In person there is a big difference. I might post the full size pics up on my webspace... anyways... the seller was www.plasmalights.com if your intersted!

oh yeah.. the one on the right is the new bulb.

I can tell a slight difference. Are the new bulbs 50 states legal? Do they use the stock wattage or a higher wattage?

I really want to wonder how it performs in the rain...

err... I don't see any headlight bulbs for anywhere near that price on the website. Which ones do you have?

Thats just their website. Go bid on em on ebay... which is where they sell them. I won mine for $14. Good deal! Im all greasy outside workin on the car... when I come in tonight ill scan the box if anyone wants to see em. but other than that... they are not really branded. They just say Xenon HID or something on them... they look real cool too. :)

just installed some new Nokya bulbs 80/100 watts with a purplish tint to give them the HID effect but they're pretty expensive at 54 bucks a pair. anyone heard of any HID conversion kits for explorers? i know Sylvania has one for Chevy's and GMCs but what about explorers?

you can get nokya 9007's for 25 a pair on ebay... they look great, put mine in last night. Dead Link Removed
I got mine from this guy, his username is HIDPRO, he got them to me REALLY fast. Hope this helps :)

oh, also... 25 dollars was with shipping. Those are for the artic white (blueish white tint). I think he also has artic purple which are like the artic white only with a purple tint instead of blue. I think the artic whites are like 5 dollars more. Hope it helps you all out

imitation HIDs, they LOOK nice, but I wouldn't say "better" than piaas, I know a guy that has those plasma things, they look great from othre vehicles, but he really doesn't have as much light on the road as he should.

be weary of something "better" that cost like 1/4 of the other product, there hasta be something goin on

I'm not dissin yer product, I just see tons of people who buy a bulb wiht a higher wattage/a more blueish color and proclaim it superior to piaas, I guess my saying "you get what you pay for" is getting the best of me again :(

Heh.. I just liked the cheapies better than my piaa superwhites side by side. For superwhite, they seemed awfully yellow in comparison. Now, I heard PIAA's new lights are supposed to he better... but 70 dollars more better? I doubt.

yea, I guess if you want a replacement over stock, "cheapies" are just fine, I paid $75 for my set of 65/55 piaa superwhites replacing my stockers, at first I didn't notice a diff.. but once I started driving with them on (instead of shining them on a wall) there was a HUGE difference.

Of course, theres always HID for the ultimate in lighting :P I'd love to have some, but $1000 just doesn't fly with me on headlights right now lol

is that picture on your post a model? lol, I've been wondering that for a while

Im tellin ya man.. they are pretty darn bright. now.. Obviously I cant say they last forever, as I have only had them a few weeks. But Ill let you know.

And no... thats not a model. Its my X... Im err... climbing stuff.

nick

heh, well maybe I'm just stupid and cant tell. But I have seen 4dr x models, just never were I could buy one, I thikn it would be cool to get one if I knew were, as if I don't have too many hobbies already :D

NOT that that is acutally a toy ford explorer (made by Maisto) held up by toothpicks... but it really is my X. really.

check out my roof rack

lol, well now I feel stupid, I beleived it was a model up till you said it wasn't.. and for a second I beleived you heh

god I'm stupid..

aha, here it is.. Dead Link Removed

Haha...I have a model like that with the exact same color as mine (green/tan). It's awesome!
