check battery light

i went outside today to start the X it dint crank over so i jumped it and it started right up then i went out to the country to run the rmp's real high so it would charge and i notice when the rmps went of 2 grand the check batter light came on but if it was under 2 grand it dint so i got home turned it of tryed to start it would not even crank over...any ideas bad altanator maybe

Sounds like the voltage regulator on the alt.

ya sounds like the alt is bad, have it checked out when you get a battery cause chances are it killed that too

no i got the alt last year i think the pully on it went bad cause it makes a funny sound could that be the problem y its not chargin the battery

ya check the tensioner as well as the belt.
