On my '96 XLT 4X4, I've got both a check engine and a O/D light flashing. My scanner tells me that I have 2 problems, insufficient EGR flow rate and something wrong with my torque converter clutch circuit (electrical.)
I read that the "transmission range sensor" has to do with both your EGR and your transmission light (of course.) I'm going to try and get that part replaced and hope that fixes both problems.
I've changed my EGR valve, so it is not the valve itself.
Anyone else had a problem like this?
I changed the transmission fluid. The transmission light was intermittent for a while. I added some more fluid (it was a little low) and now it is on all of the time again.
