Check Engine Light after Flowmaster install

Well recently i got Duel exhaust Flowmaster put on my 2001 Sport and after about like 7 or so hours of it being on the check Engine light came on and has stayed on all day today. My Friend told me to undo the battery and the computer will restart itself. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop it.

undo the battery as suggested and leave the headlights on overnight with the battery disconnected.... do a search on resetting the computer.....
