check engine light and egr

Hallo. i own a 96 explorer 190000 kilometers

my check engine light turned on. When we checked it the computer referred me to an egr problem

After 2 weeks the "check engine" light turned off.

What does it mean- should i replace the egr or not?

Does the Check Engine light still come on when you first turn the key on? As long as it does (meaning the bulb is OK) I would not worry unless/until it comes on again. You probably just got a "hiccup" light - a passing issue that did not remain. After a few drive cycles without the fault repeating, the PCM turns the light back off. Good luck.

Check Engine light still come on when i first turn the key on. so i unferstand that every thing is cool

if i can have my friend check with his computer - should i waste my time or to leave it like that?

The code will still be in memory, even with the MIL off.
I'd check it just out of curiosity. It might relate to
something very simple, like a leaking vacuum hose, etc...
