check engine light on

hi all! my 2001 ford explorer sport has the check engine light on, and it only has 46000 miles on it. it already staled twice on me. can anyone help me? also, what shocks are recommended for this model. thank you!

Welcome to the site.. Is there an Autozone close by to you? If so, go in there and ask them to run your OBDII for some codes. Post the results on here and we'll try to help you out on it. Don't go to ford to get codes pulled, they'll charge you an arm & a leg.

thanks for the welcome and the reply! i actually tried to go to autozone and they said they don't do the check engine check for free anymore. i'll try to go to a mechanic shop and have it checked from there, then i'll let you know. thanks!!
