Check engine light

I have a 2008 4.0 Explorer, and the check engine light just came on. 300,000 miles. any advice?

Plug in a code scanner into your OBD II port and look for trouble codes. Autozone and Oreillys will scan for codes for free.

Just do NOT let O'R/Auto Zone clear your codes!!!

I use an ELM327 code reader with the torque app on my android phone. The adapter was less than $10 and the app has a free and paid version for about $5.
