Check Engine Light

SouleDancer is right. The guy that looked at mine at AutoZone explained it to me. The computer stores the codes so the key only has to be in the on position. Then a series of "beeps" will start. The beeps represent each digit of a 3 digit number (Code). So if you got a 332 code then you had 3 beeps, a pause, 3 beeps, a pause, and 2 beeps.

Is there anyone in mid New Jersey that can get the codes off my truck for me. I called a place near me and they wanted $70. Help....

why don't you just go to the local ford dealer?

they see these all the time.

it might really be a concern.

have them diagnose and give you an estimate, at least you would know FOR SURE.

the check engine light came on in my '98, it was the lower intake manifold gaskets.

fixed under warranty.

Do they charge you to check your codes?
