Got a call from my old roomie tonight saying our old pup isn’t doing well and should come over and see him. So after driving the truck around more frequently and about to get it inspected, I decided to drive over (15 min down the road) because who knows how long he has.

truck drove fine. Even great. No problems, no jitters, no nothing.

spent some time with the old boy and after awhile and a few more pets I drove home. Again, a good ride home.

I noticed when I got home and went to park, the check gauge light came on. But like it blinked a bit. Not a solid light. It’s probably because I added some transmission oil and maybe didn’t add enough. Only did 1 qt (when I check it it was kinda low).

the one gauge (top right. Can’t remember which one it is) likes to fluctuate from time to time but there’s no difference in driving or performance.

just curious to what’s going on. It hasn’t come on and when it did it wasn’t a solid on. And then when I put it in park, it went out by itself.

thanks!

Most likely...your oil pressure sender is on the way out. Or the connector needs to be cleaned. I’ve had this happen a few times.

Trans fluid won’t trigger that. You can run your trans dry and the panel won’t tell you anything...so get that fluid level right.

I'd hook up a code scanner to pull codes or focus more on exactly which light was lit.

I hooked my scanner last time I saw it flicker. It was clear for awhile but not the P1121 code is showing back up. And I’ve replaced all those bits and pieces. I’ll try it again tonight after work and see what’s pulling up.

The purpose of this thing is to draw your attention - it just tells you that one of the gauges is out of normal range. Could be as simple as low on gas. It doesn't tell you anything that you can't see on the panel.
