Chrome Additions on the '06+

So I've got an '06 XLT, Black in color and I wanting to add the chrome additions.
I was looking at getting the door handle covers as well as the mirror covers such as the two auctions listed below.

Mirror Covers

My question is, has anyone bought these before and how well do they hold up or last?

thats one thing I haven't seen a lot of people talking about on here - however, those mirror covers look cool. Handles are ok, but the mirrors look like the newer super dutys!

Hey, I just bought the handles, and I was looking at the mirrors. Do they cover only the top half of the mirror like in the 06 Limiteds, or do they cover the whole thing, so it would cover up my puddle lights?

I believe the mirror covers cover just the top half

I have the side view mirror covers and the door handle covers on for about 6 months. I Love them! They are easy to put on and llok great.

X-DEACON... What type of weather did you put them on in, did you get a carwash before doing so, and did you have to buy extra 3M tape to get them on? Thanks!!

I cleaned the area with alcohol first then put them on in freezing Jeresy weather. I did not use any extra adhesive. I have had no problem at all. I like them so much that I would buy them again if I had to. They fit like a glove.

I brought all my chrome accessories off of ebay. There are many to choose from but I prefer the door handles and mirror covers from Putco.

I have a 2006 Ford Explorer XLT and as most of us know, the side view mirrors come in black. It appears that the side view mirrors for this model are just one piece altogether. I am trying to get the chrome look for these mirrors like the Limited models have but I am a bit confused. If I want this upgrade, do I have to buy the entire set of side view mirrors (which apparently don't include the back cover) + the chrome cover?
