Ok so the other day my friend gave me this device to convert the power outlet by the passenger seat to a regular power outlet so I could plug my laptop into the explorer.

I connected my laptop to this thing, and surprisingly enough it worked for a little while. After about 10 mins my laptop charger basically went bang. The device my friend gave me stopped working too.
I then tried to connect my normal phone charger back into the socket, but it did not work.

I then went to check the fuses... here is the interesting part. Ok so I know the fuse for this is the cigar lighter one right? One of the 30 amp ones? I started to take out the 30 amps just to see which one had gone. After pulling the first one out I dropped it down the side of the fuse box!!!!....i could not find it.. Ok so I then found out this fuse does my power windows and locking.

I drove to the dealership to get a fuse. On my way the 4x4 and 4x4 low lights were flashing three times every few seconds.

They gave me a fuse that did not even look the same, the guy said 'well does it matter?'.
I put it in but it still does not help…… ok now they want to charge me 100 bux to read the codes ……its amazing they don’t care at all they are like ok we will have to connect it to a computer to test it or something.

um, look up what fuse it is in the owners manual and replace it with the proper fuse

The fuses are color coded for capacity and are available at any parts store and most gas stations.

Go to a bone yard and pick them up for a low cost. One of the large 30A power dist fuses was $3 @ ford. I picked it up for $0 at the boneyard...

ok i went to a small time place with just one guy that works there....he gave me the right fuse and it worked right away....

but i like the way the ford dealership cant even support their own product!!!
