Clarkkent's "Caged Monster" Mountaineer

Dude its been a while since I actually read any threads on here.
I had no idea you got the cage and stuff done. The truck looks awesome.
I wish mine could look as cool as yours, maybe one day.

thats crazy, cause i used to say that about your truck when i was a noob. hows your explorer goin? u ever get that LT kit put on from your rolled explorer?

clark: can you please post pics of your spindle/upper arm attachment area? if it's what I think it is, it's kinda scary even though it is holding up for you.

Brandon-I'm pretty sure it's a tapped pro comp lift spindle that accomodates a vertical uniball with upper arms by McNeil.

exactly. what he said.

what size bolt? reason I ask, is the hole is 3/4" in the spindle, therefore, you can't tap it for a 3/4" bolt, you'd have to go up to a 7/8" bolt, which would reduce travel numbers quite a bit.

I have seen pics around of spindles (done by mcNeil) that have a bigass hole in them to accomodate a 3/4" nut...and that is scary IMO.

yea not sure what size bolt. its held up pretty good for four years now and ive been to baja and back. romps at pismo at least once a week. its pretty good being a mid-travel kit, gonna change it up in about a year or so. its nice, but i wouldnt have it on a trophy truck. :)

Thought I would post up, but really sad news that this thing was recently spotted in a junkyard in Huntington Beach. Clarkkent sold it maybe a little over a year ago, but the new owner blew the motor recently and that was the end of her. This truck is the reason I first wanted to hang onto mine, let alone build it and use it offroad. Definitely had some good times driving alongside it in Pismo and riding in it. For anyone local, there may still be some useable parts off it.
