welcome

wlecome to the forum, the first question you have to answer is what do you want your explorer to look like? off road or lowered? 18"s are ok if you wnat to make it a sportier explorer but not the best for off road. Take your time and look around at what some others have done with theirs and maybe you will get some ideas. Road Bully has some lift options if you want to go that route. Have fun!

Very clean! I would lift it and but on some 33's. That's just me, I lift all my vehicles, my wife says I have a sickness, but she is cool with it.

I would start by picking up that trash in the gutter there.......:)

Im in the same boat as you cant decide what look I want. I think I might choose a happy medium and go with rb's 3/2.5 lift, some nice probally chrome 17" off-road rims and a 32" tire. It will still have the nice street look, but will still be able to hang off-road. Heres the wheels im thinking about

yeah im thinking about keeping the suspension stock for now and just keeping it my daily driver because im too obssessed with cleaning it i might get 18's with smaller profile tires but still a good size and maybe lower it an inch or too just to decrease wheel gap. any idea on how much i would have to drop on like a nice 1-2" drop kit?

and thanks to all suggestions and the welcome. this forum is very friendly :]

Ha Ha! you did say clean.....But to clean it up even more, I would maybe remove the window vent things there and maybe paint the plastic body trim. Paint it body color. I don't know how that would look but it would separate it a bit from others. Good luck though! There is a lot of things that you could do. search the site and you'll discover many things and ideas you can use as your own! :)

Dude. we are on the same page. i was thinking that i want to get the nice window vents soon. i personally like the snap on ones. but as far as the trim nice call i want to maybe paint them black or body color because i have seen one white one with white trim. thanks for the suggestions

Body color looks good. But it could be rather expensive? I have an 02 Sport Trac that I have just purchased and they painted all the gray plastic cladding black. It looks really good. Better than the grey that was original. I think black would look good. Probably a cheaper as well? You may be able to do this yourself. I think mine was done by a spray can? I can't tell but it looks good to me. :)

If your gonna paint the trim use krylon fusion. A bunch of us used it for our bumpers and it came out great. I used satin black. Holds up nice ... even held up to some !#^@$ in a mini van who swipped my bumper on the drivers side in a parking lot. Just had to spary a lil touch up on. Haha .. Hilarious.

I think that is what the seller of my rig told me he used. Good stuff then!

alright cool thanks but is there a way to remove them or should i just tape off my car ans spray it?

This, I don't know. I would maybe tape off what you don't want sprayed and go from there. Use some kind of pre paint degreaser/remover of some sort to clean up what you want painted and go for it? Remember to tape off everything! over spray will get everywhere.

But if it were me, I would see if someone else chimes in to give you some proper pointers on painting the plastic stuff. I've never painted plastic before with a rattle can so I dunno.

i may have missed this, but...

IMO... because of how fresh your X looks, i would say...

intake - exhaust - 2'' RB lift - 16 or 17'' rims - 265/70-75/R? - brush gaurd w/ lighting - audio system...

thats what i would do... but hey im no one to tell you how you should mod your X... so w/e you do - JUST HAVE FUN !!! cause its so addicting !!!!
