Cleaning & Conditioner for Leather Seats

Leather Conditioner

I've seen the multiple threads on different products that work well on here but I'm questioning what my owners manual says about leather care. My owners manual specifically says not to use any oil/petroleum based leather conditioners and many of the leather conditioners state that they have oil/petroleum products in them. Also, I don't know if the leather seats are the same across trim lines but I have a sport and the leather feels a lot softer (more porous maybe?) than any other vehicles I've had with leather seats and every conditioner I look at also states not to use on really soft leather. I know I'm probably way over thinking this but just wanted to know others opinions. Thanks.

The 2013 Limited manual says to clean just use mild soap and water.
Having said that, as long as your cleaner of choice doesnt contain petroleum / oils etc it should be ok. Look for PH balanced as well.

Beware any cleaning/conditioning products that include water proofing for leather - they usually do contain all the junk and are usually slick and greasy.

"Mothers" car care products have some decent reviews by members.

-I wouldnt use any RainX product on the inside on anything, regardless of claims or ingredients.

Lexol details from their site:

Lexol-pH Cleaner is ideal for all your leather care needs. LEXOL-pH Leather Cleaner is a blend of selected, non-alkaline cleaning agents designed to clean leather safely and thoroughly without the harshness or potentially damaging effects of saddle soaps.

Product Characteristics:

The carefully balanced formula falls within the pH range of leather, which makes it safer for leather. The alkaline-free formula contributes to the life of your leather.
It is concentrated, so it cleans effectively with a considerably smaller quantity of product.
The foaming action penetrates the pores of leather to lift and suspend dirt and oils. These contaminants are then easily wiped away.
It is purely a cleaner. It contains no waxes, oils or additives that can interfere with its cleaning action or cause dirt to become trapped in the leather.
It rinses easily, leaving leather healthy, supple and able to breathe.
It contains no harsh ingredients that can damage, discolor or dull leather.
