I picked up some clear corner lenses for my '95 last year, not so much for the custom look but because my originals had yellowed quite a bit. I was able to get most of the yellow out of the headlights with some various tricks, but couldn't get the corners clear again.

The problem I have now is that the clear ones, not even a year old, have begun to yellow significantly. When I first put them on, they looked a little silly since they were so much whiter than the headlights, but now they look like they are the old part and the headlights were replaced. What causes this? Did I get a bad set, and if so, who makes the good ones?

I live in Western NY, so I doubt it is the sun that did the damage.

Thanks,
Blue

i got mine in sept, and they already are yellow. i think itz either the bulbs melting a bit of the plastic housing, which then condenses on the lens. or it could be my high temp silver paint that i used on my bulbs. this has been discussed before, but nobody has a good solution other than buying new ones

I had mine on for about 4 months and only the passenger side corner yellowed, bad. i jsut put my stocks back on, i don' tfeel it is worth it to buy new ones

ive had clears for about 2 months, and they are starting to yellow. i put some clear bulbs in them though so its not the melting or anything. im probably going to buy some new ones when they keep getting yellower and yellower.

no clear corners for me then......

answer to clear-corner yellowing

i found this trick handy before i sold my 95 sport. long periods in the sun turn the plastic yellow (if this is what you are referring to) and the only thing you have to do is get some car wax and hand buff the s*it out of them. i found it best to used a buffer and it brought them back like new!

Where did you buy your clears?
I've had mine for 8 months now, outside 100% of the time, and they don't have a hint of yellowing.

ERIK- i have had mine for a year, and they have never had the yellowing problem either. however, in the last month, they have turned. i guess they all do it sooner or later, i just didnt realize they would turn that quickly. one week they're clear, the next they are yellow.

i was gonna get clears, but the hell with it now. my stock corners aren't even bad.

Before you start trying all kinds of chemicals to clean your clear corners, read this thread:

I would like to know why they turn yellow. Only thing I can think of is moisture getting inside or they are made of a poor plastic.

My stock lenses are yellow. I tried to get it out once but it didn't work. I wish I could though 'cause it really bugs me.
