I have a noise in the front end, that I thought was a wheel bearing. If I drive it right off the bat it's fine. After I have driven about 2-3 miles, then I stop, then just creep forward or backward, I get a clicking noise like a bad bearing. Now when I get on up in speed, there is a dull vibration in the front. I took it to a local Belle Tire and they put it up on the hoist and told me that it sounded like it was coming from the front differential. Told me that if they could find one at a junk yard, it would cost around 1500.00 to repair. Called a local salvage yard, and they have one for 200. w/20,000 mi.
But, before I go spend that kind of money, I want some other opinions. Could it be the CV joint on the front left side? Could it be something else? I would also say that up to the creeping speed of maybe -5mph you hear the clicking noise, above that speed, you don't really hear it. Also on the highway, there is a slight humm. Not the tires either, have new ones.
