Will someone out there please help. I have had my 1998 Ford Explorer in the shop about 10 times in the past 2 weeks. I have had many opions on what could be causing this noise. Everytime I make a quick sharper left turn I get this clicking noise, and when I am driving slow in a straight line I get this squeaking coming from the front. It's hard to tell exaclty where the noise is coming from, but it sure sounds like the front driver side. I have had the passenger side cv axle replaced because the shop said that was the problem. Problem not fixed obviously, but anyway I went to Ford and Ford says right away Transfer Case well I question that I always thought when the transfer case went bad the noise would be there all of the time. Well than I take it to a different shop and they say caliper hardware. I replace the caliper hardware the noise is still there. Every where I have went they say the u joints and ball joints are tight. I really think the cv axle on the driver side is bad, but they say it looks good because the boot on the axle looks good. Well this explorer has 130,000 miles on it and from what I understand cv axles can be bad even if the boot looks good. Can anyone out there help me? Maybe some suggestions. Is there anything else that could cause this nose?
