I have a 1996 XLT V8 AWD with 35k miles. Lately it's been making some awful "clunking" noises when I drive it. It really sounds like a piece of crap. Has anyone had the same experience or know what could be causing that, and/or what should be done to fix it?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

Check your Upper Control Arms. I had that problem too, they were loose. No noises anymore.

Joe -
have you found out what the problem is yet. I am experiencing the same thing and its annoying the heck out of me. It was doing it for a while and when I am on the highway - no noise. Go figure!
