Hey guys! Quick question. I have a 2001 explorer xlt with black gauges. Can I swap my cluster for the white cluster out of the same year sport?? Or could I at least swap the white faces from a sport cluster to my black stock cluster???? Thanks in advance!

Yes, and yes.

Was thinking of doing this as well to my '00 Sport. I love white face gauges.
Is it a straight forward swap?

there used to be a company that made replacement faces for your stock cluster. you could get a white one to replace a black face. don't know if they're still around, but that way would have to be cheaper that replacing the entire cluster. check the web. try pricedumper.com they offer a large selection of new faces for the Explorer.

Not necessarily- the faces can be close to the same price, and it's way easier to just unplug one and plug in the other than prying off needles and resetting gauges...

Plus- the Ford cluster looks factory, the colors match in the lighting. No matter what you try to do with faces, they'll never color match as nice as a factory unit will if stuff like that bugs you.
