Anyone have a good picture of the clutch pedal switch jumper found in Explorers with an automatic transmission? I've searched high and low and have found nothing so far... Thanks.

Well there is not much to it, its just a plastic piece that clips into the harness that jumps all three sets of wires...why do you want a pic?

I can't seem to find it...I have the full length console and I've read here that my Explorer may not have this jumper. I didn't see a clump of wires that looked similar to the switch I installed for my 5 speed swap. I don't know if it's just tucked way up there or what.

Not sure if a Gen II has this switch, but the wiring should be there, up under the steering column somehwere :)

I assume you are converting to a 5 speed? You should find a 5 speed truck same year as yours and get everything, transmission wiring harness, computer, pedals, master cyl, everything....

It's mostly complete. I just have a few details to work out and one of them is this switch. JoshC posted that the wiring is up there....so I must be overlooking it unless his 2nd gen automatic (converted to stick) is different than mine. I still have some 4low issues but I know how to fix that problem.

I drive her every day now but I just don't feel comfortable without this saftey feature.

yeah sounds like the Neautral safety, 4x4 shift, and BOO circuit all need to be wired into your new clutch pedal 3 pos switch...

I heard that the plug is already there so that I just have to take the jumper off and plug it in. Also....which three wires are you refering to? My 97 service CD has this for a plug:

3 circuits, 6 wires total

Neautral safety is for the ignition.

BOO or Brake on/off circuit is for the cruise control (so cruise goes off when you hit the clutch so the engine doesnt over-rev, same function as if you hit the brake pedal)

And the third is the electric shift safety to make sure the clutch is pressed in for low range..

And yes unless they changed things for you 97 the plug is in the truck and the wiring harness will plug into the clutch pedal 3 pos switch :)

Now you may also have some small wiring changes to make to the transmission harness if you havent already....

Well I looked and looked and looked some more. Still I can't find this dang thing. 410Fortune do you happen to know if I can just put one of those quick splice things on the three things you told me I needed to tap or am I going to have to cut the wires and run the switch inline? Thanks for all your help. :D

well the switch is part of the circuit, you cant just tap into it, you have to have the switch in line, meaning input from the input wire on the computer to the output (back to the EEC) also the clutch pedal switch is not the only one in the circuit, meaning the IGN wire goes from the EEC to the neautral sensor in teh tranny, then to the clutch pedal, then to the key switch, then to the starter relay or something like that, so tapping into it will not work, it must be in series...
