I have a 93 Explorer that is a stick. It popped off the rod and I replaced the bushing. I keeps popping off after a few shifts. I drove it home with no bushing when I bought it and it never popped off. When I got it the clutch was VERY hard and when I took it to a shop they said to make sure I got a Motorcraft Throw out bearing. So I did that, had the clutch replaced and it was fine. Then Installed the missing bushing. That was at 145,503 miles in November 2019. It was fine until about July of this year at 156,400 miles. I got another bushing and installed it and now it keeps popping off. Could the peg be bent from the hard pushing before I replaced the clutch? If so, where can I get a new (or good used) clutch pedal?

Can you post pictures of the pedal assembly?

Does your clutch and brake pedal sit the same distance off the floor?

You are talking about the little plastic cage with fingers that lock the pushrod to the pedal
Stud?

You can use a zip tie around the whole she bang to make sure it doesn’t come off if you get a problematic “cage”

Can you upload a picture to see what you are talking about? i've a 94 stick and i'm interested in your solution, thanks!
