Well the time has come to replace the clutch in my sport. I searched the archive and found most of the info I needed. However, I still am unsure on a couple of things. I am going to replace the slave cylinder and have never bled one before. Can I put the new one on and use a vacuum pump to draw the fluid through the entire system or do I need to bench bleed it first and then bleed the entire system? Second, does anyone know the Ford part number for the three little seals on the top of the transmission that always leak? Lastley, does a new slave from Ford come with the throw out bearing or do you have to buy it seperate? Thanks for the help!

You can bleed it all in the truck, You might be able to use a vacuum bleeder but i'm not really sure. There is a technique to bleeding that clutch that if not followed will make it hard to get all the air out. If you haven't gotten the clutch yet i highly recommend getting a luk clutch. luk makes ford's clutches and they're alot cheaper than buying them from ford. i got my clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder and pilot and throw out bearings from them for about 260. thier website is www.dialaclutch.com

Thanks for the info. I will look into those clutches.

You might also look into the Spec clutches. They make a couple different versions (Stage 1, Stage 2) depending on your power level and needs, and a few people over at RPS are using them and are really happy. You might check with RangerSVT2000 over there, I forget what the name of the site was where he ordered his from.
