CM code 214 and Camshaft position sensor

I am wondering what the effect will be long term if I do not fix this problem? I have a CM code of 214 which indicates for all intensive purposes that it is the camshaft position sensor. I am not sure where this is on the 95 explorer? I also am not sure how long of a procedure or how much of a cost it would be to repair? I have 180k miles on the EX and do not want to get into a huge expense. I do not have the tools to do it myself? Any suggestions or answers to these questions would be appreciated.

I have a 1996 and I just changed mine, I don't know if yours is like mine, if so, its a pain in the you know what. Took me three hours to take it out. Three .5 to replace. I took it out, lubbed it and replaced it. Very little room, had to work with a mirror and a telescopic magnet (when you drop something). There are several threads on this here, do a search.
