I was thinking about getting those 98 Cobra Wheels. I can get them for a good price at http://www.gefracing.com. I was wondering if they would fit on my X-Sport. Also what size of tire would fit? Has anyone tries this yet, I think it would look great on the car. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern didnt change when they redesigned the sport so yeah, Go For It! It will look good. As for tires, the 98 cobras are 17x8 I believe so depending on what size your stock tire is depends on what size tire you put on. You want to keep the overall dia. the same. Find a tire size calculator and see what will work.

a 275/50/17 will be the same height as the stock tires.

So if that size tire will be the same as my old tire, what size tire would be bigger but still fit my rims and my car. Thanks

How big you wanna go? You want street tires or off road tires?

I am thinking about the same kinda wheels... maybe alittle newer though

I want as big of tires i can get without rubbing or any problems, does anyone know what that would be for those 17x9 rims. Thanks

for NO problems or chance of problems, dont get anything bigger or smaller than the stock sized tire or the aforementioned 275/50/17.. that is already a wide tire and may rub just becuase of that......

are you planning on getting the 98 Cobras (17x8) or the 95 Cobra R's (17x9)? they look very similar, and often the replica places will call the 98's a "17x8 Cobra R." the 275/50's may or may not rub on the 17x9's, and probably not rub at all on the 17x8's. i have no idea what will be the biggest tire that wont rub, because everyones X's are different. the actual wheel, not the tire, rubbed on mine. i have talked to very few people who had this problem other than me. it wasnt a big deal, and i fixed it easy.

Im looking for tires that are 275/50/17 and I cant seem to find them anywhere. Tirerack.com sears.com atb.com.
Does anyone knwo where to find tires this size or any recomendations about tires? Thanks

what size is your stock tire?

a 275/55/17 is much closer to your stock size than the 275/50/17. search for that size and you will get some results.

There are a couple other guys on the board who have the 98 Cobra's. One member, Frankrizzo said he bought one wheel to see if it fit, but said it wouldn't fit the hub or something. Another guy, I Can Defy has them and he says they fit fine. Confusing aint it....
