Just had the dreaded "Check Engine" light come on on my newly purchased (of course!) 98 XLT 5.0L. I read a post on this forum suggesting a code reader, and I decided to go ahead and buy the cheapish one at Advanced Auto (Actron). Worked awesome - just a catalyst below threshold, and it cleared the code.
Also did the same for my wife's Honda Odyssey since her light was on too - same issue, except bank 1 instead of bank 2.
Also found out Advanced Auto apparently has a free service to read the codes, but I wanted to have my own reader, so added it to my toolbox.
Point being - y'all give great advice! Awesome forum!

I run a "Scangauge" myself that I got through a group buy on this site a while back. It's saved my ass numerous times. Great tool. I also custom mounted mine. Shameless plug, I know.

Oh, and by the way, a great way to pay back the site for the endless info on here is to go elite. Just sayin'. :D
