Well, about a week ago now, my fuel pump died on me, leaving me stranded at work. Fast forward a couple of days, my buddy and I bought a replacement "Precision" unit from O'Reilly and dropped the tank, got it in there, yay, problem solved. Or so we thought.
A couple of days go by, and I start to understand the odor of gasoline emanating from under the truck is not going away, even though we reconnected everything (pretty sure) and there are no leaks coming from the tank (damn sure). My Ex also started throwing code p0401 (Insufficient EGR flow detected) and that has come back a couple times after I cleared it. (I don't like staring at that orange light on my dash.)
I have reached the point where I am out of my depth. What is causing this, and how do I fix it?
Many thanks.
