Codes without CE light?

Are there some codes that will appear via scanning but wont throw a check engine light? I have a stalling problem and I don't want to waste a trip to the dealer to have it scanned if there wont be any as I haven't seen a CE light. Cleaning the IAC valve and MAF sensor haven't helped

I don't think you'll have a code stored unless the MIL has come on at one time or another. Neither will all troubles show up along with a MIL light, as you know with the stalling idle. I would bite the bullet and install a new IAC before taking it to the dealer. Most idle problems are caused by a dirty or faulty IAC.....
