2001 Sport Trac
ok so i am not that mechanically stupid but...quick question
i have a 2001 ford explorer sport trac 2wd, i have the tosion bars torqued and shackles and a 3inch bodylift, i would like to get an extra 1-2 inches lift out of it, and maybe a little handling as well. If i were to put blistein 6100 coil over shocks on the front, with the right coil would it lift my truck another 1-2 inches? and i would assume but maybe wrong, i would then take off the torsion bars? yes i know about the rcd kit, i don't want to wait, or get another 4'' and i know that kit comes with a-arms etc., so my question is would just those coil overs give me an extra 1-2'' lift?
Thanks GUYS!!!

No you would not get any extra lift from them without using drop brackets.

umm drop brackets are? lol sorry but don't know what they are..have any pics of what they look like or just tell me what they are where they go?
thanks!

Nevermind, you wouldn't want to do that anyway with a 2WD, too much work.

I would think if you got the 3" spindle lift you could crank the T-bars to probably 4.5" or so and then have someone custom-mount you some coilovers up front.

With a project this big, I advise you to read, read, and then read some more about it.

heheh...yeh only problem is they don't make a spindle for my truck..otherwise i would just get that...it is a 2001 sport trac 2wd, the explorer one will not fit due to the sport tracs rotor being a 16'' and i belive the explorers is 15'' or something like that...but i know the sport trac's is bigger
if you can think of any other way to lift the st let me know lol! i already have body lift and torqued the torsion bars and bought shackles...thanks for the help!!!

That can't be true. trckmagic on this site had a 2wd sporttrac with a spindle lift on it. The information you got must be wrong.

that is right he does! but lol i talked to him...he had to get the explorer pro comp spindles for the explorer, and convert his front rotors, calipers, and new pads to the ones on a explorer so that they would fit

And the point is?

That's not a tough job at all to do. All of those parts can be found at your local auto parts store.

lol yeh i know..rotors are 150 a piece, calipers are 100 a piece, pads 30, then the spindles 500, yeh i could do it...just little more than i want to spend is all would be 1000 so dunno

also...i see you have b-code torsion bars...these are stronger than the stock explorer torsion bars? where did you get them from...anywhere online that sells them?
Thanks!

thanks though for all your help!
