i have decided to get the cheap auto zone shackles but cant decide how to lift the front. i know that the spacers are cheap and relatively easy but my springs are 11 years old with over 306k miles on them so they prolly are saggin. more flex would be good but are the 2inch skyjacker coils worth it? and how much do they cost. i was lookin at 4wheelparts.com and couldnt find em

What do you mean just put them in, do you need to extend any arms or change anything like shocks or drop brackets? The offroad center here said a 1.5 coil spacer is pushing it and anything over will make the tires go \ /

the tires are \ / right now, but you have to get an alignment.

Simple - - - - - - - get the lift kit from http://www.rockymountainsusp.com

it's a 2" Skyjacker suspension lift kit for 91-94 Explorer. It includes new coil springs for the front and add-a-leaf for the rear. In addition you can also get coil spacers for the front and shackles for the rear which might give you an additional 1-1.5" of boost. After that or any of these you'll need an alignment and most likely you'll need 3 degree camber sleeves for your front end. Lift kit from Rocky Mountain will cost merely $150.00. It's well worth it!! add coil spacers and you're even higher..... I wouldn't push it much more than that without any drop brackets........ you're flexed out!!

Let me know if you have questions....... I've got the set-up on my truck and Dan........ you'll be able to see it soon!!!!

Thanks,

Crap! Why didnt anyone tell me about rocky mtn. I just bought it for 179 at 4 wheel parts 3 weeks ago. I did get 4 pro comp es3000 though for free. anyone want them?

Crap!! I just bought those shocks from 4 wheel parts warehouse!!!!

lol

Crap more! I got them so they would fit up to 3 inches of lift. Anyone want them! Dre! Crap! hhaha

that's what I got too..... shocks to work with a 3" lift...... lol

so funny!

I would have given them to you for like $80 plus shipping too CRAP!!!! heh

i thought you couldnt combine the spacers with the longer coils and still get correct alignment, but i guess you guys have done it right?

yup taco...they did it...BUT you are right.well kinda..you cant do it, with a stock vehicle.....you can do it if you get the 3 degree alignment shims that andre is talking about..

I'm thinkin' not...

I have the Skyjacker extended coils on my 91 XLT. The same ones that come with the forementioned lift kit.
With JUST THE COILS, the max offset camber bushing was required to achieve proper alignment. If you add a coil spacer with the extended coil, you will not be able to align it to reasonable specs. AKA: \ /
IMHO, go with the coils, forget the spacers...

well, then there's got to be something terribly wrong with my X...... I've got Skyjacker coils plus 1" spacer under both....... aligned to +/- 0.25 degree...... that's spec..... using 3 degrees sleeves.... no kidding guys. I couldn't use my adjustable sleeves though since these would let me go 2 degree total....

just my two....
