i was wondering if i could gain any lift by using lift coils in the front of 98 explorer xlt and doing and add a leaf or lift shackles in the rear. i could just do the torsion bars but im looking for a little more than 2 inches of lift and i also want something that will strengthen my front end.

You have no coils in the front. There is something called the RCD lift, but it's no longer made. also, there is a limit of two inches if you're 4wd as that is all the CV joints can take without shredding. if you do a search for warrior shackles and Torsion Twist you'll come up with two inch lift options, or there's the how to lift your explorer for 500 dollars that includes a body lift, which is about the only way to get more then two inches without extreme modification to the front end.
