My 95 X has about 154k miles on it, and just recently the transmission began to scare me. On cold days (Been getting alot of them lately in CO) I start the car, let it warm up a few minutes, then pop her into reverse out of the drive way. Then I shift into drive, and it takes about three seconds for it to actually shift. After it finally shifts into drive, it works fine until the next day. Any thoughts?? I've been tempted to find some additive to try to mak the tranny last longer, but I don't really like adding stuff to it. Any help helps. TIA

welcome to the site... that actually doesnt sound to abnormal, the warm fluid needs to be driven on to warm up, it really cant circulate in a cold tranny..... you might want to look into a tranny flush and a filter change and see if that helps.......

Use the search feature on this topic.. (yes, I'm lazy enough I'm not going to for you :) ) a few people talk of a solenoid of sorts in the tranny with a bad seal that if u replace the seal, it cures the problem. Someone chime in here if I'm wrong, I'm doing this from memory.. a poor memory at that..

How does the fluid look? When my tranny was grinding to pieces it would start to shift slow in the morning. That's when I knew I should change the filter. Has the fluid ever been changed?
