cold start up

i've had my 97 explorer sport for one year now and i have put 3000 miles on it ...sometimes i drive it on week ends ..some times once a week..my question is will the engine suffer from the lack of use ..and is there any recommendations on a oil addittive that will that will help ..or should i just start my X once a day to keep the oil pump from losing it's prime....btw i have 76k on the engine now....

I would get worried if you don't start it after 2-3 weeks not less than one. I think you should be fine.

once a week is fine, but you should actually drive it (and maybe rag it out a bit) not just start it up.

i drive it an average of about 20 miles a week to the tennis courts and back or just to do some lite shopping..sometimes i tow my boat to redondo harbor {about 10 miles one way}and drop it in the water for some excellent bass fishing off rocky point
