Whenever the temp drops below zero, AWD, traction control & ABS cease to function. The brake, ABS and traction control lights come on, though 4WD high and low continue to work. 3 Trips to the dealer have resulted in repairing wiring, however, whenever the temp drops, everything fails again. Has anyone else experienced this? Can this be reset through the computer?

Have you checked to see if there is water in the vacuum lines? My buddy has a 2005 F150 and there was a problem with them getting water in the vacuum lines stopping the 4x4 system from engaging. (I don't know if this applies to your ex or not though)

Thanks; no, it's an electrical issue, not vacuum. When I start the car on a cold morning those three lights come on and stay on when the rest go off. When I throw it in gear AWD, ABS and traction control don't work.

what wire were they repairing? just curious.

also when you said awd comes on...... then you say 4x4 ....

does it come up check advance trac (dont think an ex say this)

or is the yellow squiggly lines coming on with ab light?

cold weather failure

Tech notes from dealer as follows:
"ABS/TC module making poor connection in cold weather causing an intermittent ABS light condition. Modified ABS/ TCU connector and connection points to provide better contact between the 2 surfaces."
Once again temps dropped below 0 earlier this week and ABS, Brake and yellow squiggly lights came on; ABS, AWD and traction control failed. Temp above 0 today and everything is working again. Where is ABS/ TCU module located so I can check connections?

one more question was the truck ever in a frontal collision?

as for the abs module its located at the driver side front of vehicle almost next to the radiator.

under the battery.

one more thing, next time this happens, when its sub zero outside.

get a test light or a dvom and see if fuse 18 in the smart junction box has power.

fuse 18 is a 10amp fuse.

let me know...
