Color Question

A few years ago I hit a dear and damaged my hood and fender. Well I'm just getting around to fixing them. I already have the fender fixed so now its time for the hood. I found one on eBay and wanted to make sure it is the right color. So here is a picture of my truck and the hood I want to buy. Can somebody tell me they are the same color with out a code?

You are asking a really tough question. The lighting and the camera itself can make either one of those look different in color. Your only sure bet is to match color codes. It will be tough too since the sun also fades out the colors more the older the vehicle is. They look similar to me but its really tough to tell you for sure.

Ya thats what I thought. I got my dad to get the color code off of my truck its FL. The eBay ad says its laser red. I asked him to get a color code for me. Hope its the right color cause he only wants $70 plus shipping for it.

that hood is also wet which will distort the color view. if the person can't give you a color code then i would error on the side of caution and say it's not the same. or you can look up to see how many reds there were in your year and what they were ie metallic red verses metalic marroon.

i can't tell you explicitly 2000 but here are all the codes that ford used between 95-****
