I'm gonna install some indiglo gauges in my explorer and was wondering if anyone has colored their needles...either with a marker or paint. I've heard that paint weighs too much, but i was thinkin a light coat with a red sharpie wouldn't hurt? anyone know for sure? thanks, Bob

Paint adds too much weight. Sharpies are fine.

Hey Bob, I got your email and Mahieber is right. Using paint would add to much weight to the needles.

Use a sharpie and start at the base of the needle and width a fluid motion make one pass towards the tip. Repeat this proccess until the needle is as dark as you want it. Dont go back and forth when doing this because at the point where the sharpie changes direction, it will leave a dark spot of color.

Check out the last three posts on the first page for some pics of my red needles.
