i posted a message over there. i was just wondering if you could do the whole system write-up like they do in car audio magazines so we could get a good feel of what it would sound like. thanks
hey, i'm also assuming its not a daily driver. right? why don't you do the torsion bar flip and do a 4/4 drop or so? it won't ride great, but it would look really phat.
EXPO5.0 - I am going to do the torsion bolt drop next month to give it that extra clean look. As for the system goes I have an Eclipse 7002 indash screen along with an indash 6 disc player, tweets in the defrost dash, mid's and tweets in the door but I am adding kick panel this month. The screen in the back is YES just for show, An Ecelle DVD player, and I have 2- 12" Rockford Fosgate HX2 subs, 2-160 rockford amps for the subs and a 200 Rockford amp for the mids and tweets also I have an EQS for imaging and and Epicenter for that added extra bass, and a 6xs Xover, and 2 -1farad rockford caps. I believe that sums it up. But I am adding more stereo stuff this winter again.
Thanks for looking - and No its not a daily driver
EXPO5.0 - Thanks! I am adding two more screens, I am going to put them in the front seat head rest. Also I am getting some kick panels made with a 4" and tweet. And I am relocating my 6XS Crossover to the rear of the box (right now it is hidden) because I am putting bucket seats in the rear and this way you will be able to see the crossover. As for exterior I am adding a graphic design to the paint, lowering the X, and adding some color to the interior which will be bomb.
kickpanels are really important for sq in an explorer, those stock placements are no good. also, it is always good to have as much of your system visible, but clean for a non-daily driver so it sounds like your going in the right direction there with the x-over and stuff. are you going to do the interior to match the fiberglass? it would be sweet if the whole interior was like that. if i could i would definitely do a fiberglass center console with the x-over in there, especially if you are going to do the rest of the interior to match those colors. you could maybe throw a tweeter or two in there too, or a screen. I plan on putting a 7 inch (or so) screen in my center console with ps2 and nintendo nes over the winter, but i don't have the funds to do a full fiberglass install or anything. yours is really great the way it is, but if you do a few more things it will be off the chain
EXPO5.0 - Yes, I am going to match my interior with my sub box. When I have my rear console made I am putting the DVD player at the bottom of it because right now it is under the back seat. I alos agree with you on the kick panels.
How do you have the rear flip down monitor mounted? I would like to get one for the rear of my explorer, but so the people in the back seat can watch it..I have a monitor in the front..do I just Y off of the video to the front..and run it to the back?
My rear monitor I just cut a small hole in the liner ran my cord then took a piece of wood and liquid nailed it to the roof, (Note: you will need to let it dry for 24 hours or it will not hold, get a rod or a long 2x4 and wedge it to the roof and floor to keep it in place overnight) then you can just screw in the monitor to the wood, and for the hook up, mine is hooked up directly to my DVD Player, so I really dont know what to tell you about yours, but "Y" ing it off maybe ok, I would call a stereo store to double check.
No brackets, it came as you see it on my website. When you fold down the screen there are 4 screw holes on base of it and thats all. But if you want to cheat a little you can just cut a 6" x 6" piece of wood and just lay it inbetween the liner and the roof and then just drill the monitor to the wood, thats how mine was until I had the time to liquid nail it. The wood and monitor dont weigh that much so it wont sagg your liner.
That does look awesome! But, how do you get the groceries home now? Man, I wish I could just have a show (off) vehicle. Wife, kid, and no money kind of put a damper on that idea....
