So heres my project, decided to finally do it and ill teach you guys too lol.
Im tinting my taillights on my 92' EB and I kind of added a custom look behind the tint,

most people said to use the "Smoke" tint, but I couldnt find that at Meijers :p
So i grabbed some cheap $10.99 5% window cling.

It comes with the little flat plastic card tool, and a nice sharp box knife, however I bought a box knife while I was there, its way sharper and easier to use.

What you'll need:

-Tint (Any percentage will work, whatever your pref's are)
-X-Acto/Box knife
-Spray bottle w/ Warm water & shampoo, or dishsoap in there (I used a windex bottle
-"Bondo" Hard plastic card
-Heat gun (I used a Hair Dryer)
-A nice system to listen to while doing it all :p

What I did different was I used some electrical tape and taped the bottom section w/ the reverse light in it, and cut out the tape that covered the reverse light. (On the 91-94's theres like 3 sections in the taillight)

(You can do it any way you want, once I get some cash, im probably gonna take all the tint and everything off of mine, and spray paint the bottom and top sections glossy black and separate all 3 with a piece of chrome strip)

Its still pretty cold out, so I used an old roaster thingy to warm the lights up:

Heres what it looks like with the top section taped off, and tinted, this was just a small garbage piece I had cut wrong, so the lights not actually fully covered on the side and bottom:

This is where I taped off eventually, I didnt have enough to do both the top and bottom section how I wanted:

This is what it looked like fully tinted w/ the taped off bottom section, I didnt trim the tint up yet, but you get the idea:

Finished upper brake light: (Not lit up) (After trimming excess tint off)

Upper again: (Lit up) (This is also before I trimmed it)

Ended up taking the bottom tape off (UGH!) and just tinting each section individually, this is before its trimmed, and the middles not done either:

Basically heres what you need to do:

1. Clean all the lights off, with either the windex, or soap solution
2. It should be decently warm 50* at least
3. Get some thin paper, and trace the outline of your light, it makes it easier if you take the light off, and work with it like that
4. Cut the tint to your sizes from the paper you traced
4-1. This is when you would put any "stencil" or anything you want on the light, tape, etc whatever design you'd like
5. Spray the back of the tint with the solution, and put it on the light
6. Use the "Card tool" and basically squeegee the solution from under the tint
7. This is when I used my heat gun (hair dryer) and got the tint nice and hot, then squeegee'd more, as much as I could
8. Let it sit a while, then finally (if any) trim the excess off, and install the light bulbs back in, and put your light back on
EX: You could also think about using a pencil really lightly, and tracing a design onto the tint when on the light, and cutting it out, like for example some circles, or squares, maybe your "Maker's" logo, just trace it, then use your box knife and cut it out
Now your explorer (or whatever you drive) has a nice custom look to it, and people will deff. look twice :D
