Hey guys, ive been reading and you guys seem to really know your stuff. So i have installed my 50 - 4 Xplod head unit and love it. I want to do the speakers now. So im goin with components in the front. If i buy them from the store will i have to buy a fitting for them for my 6-8 slot or should i make one for them,,, can you guys post some pics of where you have fitted the tweeter THANKS

there are some component speakers that allow you to mount the tweeter and the mid in the same location. I know Boston has some that mount to the side of the mid and have a basket that floats about the mid. Alpine and a few others had a mounting location that screws in the middle of the mid..

Myself personally I mounted my tweeter up on the door in my ranger.

The best thing would probably get some kick panels to mount the tweeter and the mid so that they best angle towards you..

If you buy any component set that is not 6 x 8 then you will either have to buy a adapter or make one from MDF. If I were you, I would just get a descent set of 6 x 8 components. http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=REF6800cs These would be plenty if you are going to be running off the HU. As ar as tweeter location, I prefer either the door pillar or the upper part of the door right in front of the vinyl padding at the top of the door. Kick panels do sound good, but I cant see giving up my foot space for them.

I seen someone take the black piece in front of the windshield and drill out holes and put them in there. They matched up beautifully and looked stock.
