I have a 98 sport with the standard 4.0 pushrod. I have been looking for a computer modual for it but have had no luck. I called hypertech but the guy there was rather unfriendly. My main goal is to get as much power as possible AND killing the god damned speed limmiter which I hit every time I'm on the highway. I would also like to make sure any product is compatable with my modifications:

Current: K&N air
Future: Vortech supercharger, Katback exhaust, Police grade alternator (havent decided what brand yet)

Can anyone tell me what is out there, and how much it will cost? I'm not all that up on engines and whatnot but I'm learning. Any help would be apreciated.

Welcometo the site, unabonked. I have found this place to be a wealth of information on my explorer and numerous others.
For my 98 OHV 5-speed, I've been opening up my engine in preparation for a chip (later this month, probably). You may want to think about a new intake, and exhaust before or in unison with your chip. Just MHO.
I've seen a number of debates going on about performance chips. Do a search on this one, but one thread had a link to a Ranger forum where one member drove around for a few days with a Diablo and then a few days with a SuperChip. I think he went with Diablo, but said their performance was darn near equal. In addition, you might be able to get hooked up by looking at the Group Purchases category to get the name and phone number of the guy at Superchips when (or if) you order one. They've got a deal going for members of this site.
That's about it form here, but please let everyone know how the results are.
Karl
