Computer tuners

I had some questions about computer tunes. I beleive I will be going the way of a x2 and see if I can get it doen via bama chips. What kind of gas milage increases have people seen with the tune? I would like to see an average gain that would offset the price of using a higher grade fuel. I beleive most places are abotu 30 cents more for the 93. With my caculations 2 mpg gain would off the extra cost. If I did the math correctly I would be saving a little on a monthly basis.

I currently have only the intake opened up. This week or next I plan on ordering the UDP. I figure with these plus the tune it should give some gains.

I forgot to put say it above, but the numbers I am looking for needs to be the the 4.6L, I can find numbers on the other motors but not this one.

4.6 is OBD2 compliant so any tuning system that works with OBD2 will work. You just need to get a tuner who knows what they are doing or get a system like a Sniper Commando or SCT pro racer and do it yourself by trial and error.

The mileage you get will depend on the tune as well as the accessories ( mods ) that promote mileage and most important, the way you drive.

I would definately go with an Xcal2 or 3.

For the most part I tend to drive with gas milage in mind most of the time.

I believe explorer express sells the tuner with 3 tunes from bamachips. I figure I can get one for 89oct and two for the 91/93. I will ask that one of the 89 and one of the 91/93 to be geared towards economey.
