When i put a high series console in...i hooked up all the wires to the stereo speakers...2 neg. to each rear speaker, and 1 pos. to each rear speaker...however, i was reading in my cd rom, it says to turn on/ off the rear controls is to hold the "3" and "5" button together on your stock radio...but i put in a aftermarket stereo in, how can i make the rear radio work with this???

I've just put new unit in and I don't think there is any way to hook up the rear controls. I am looking at the problem but I don't have a wiring diagram for the rears. The other thought that I had was to take out the rear control panel and put a LCD in instead.

could it be the speaker level switcher???
it says..."The SPK is a two channel speaker level switching device that is designed to work in conjunctio0n with the PMD. When activated, the SPK routes the output from an auxilairy source output (multimedia device or cellphone) into 2 speakers of the vehicle's sound system. The SPK can also be used as a two channel speaker switcher when two radios are connected to one set of speakers. Can also be use as apeaker level muting device.

sounds like to could be it...directing the auxiliary source to the 2 rear speakers....
this info can be found under "Single path devices"
