Anyone have any ideas for a few cool and cheap mods I can do on my 2003 EB Explorer?

I just ordered tow hooks on ebay and as soon as I can find those mirrors in a heated version for less than 269.99 I'm going to do that too... It's total bullshit that the non-heated kit is 40$ and the heated one is 269$...

Define "cheap" and what you are hoping to accomplish.

Cheap, Fast, Reliable.

Pick 2.

Around 40-80 bucks? Maybe more if it's going to be really cool... It needs to be reliable though, no "Walgreens" accessories or anything like that...

Post a picture up, maybe seeing the color and such will spark imagination.

Maybe a billet grille

Here's a question! Anyone know if I can put an automatic antenna on and where I could buy one?

You can paint your stock grill or rims or headlights, very easy and very cheap. remove running boards.. slightly tint third brake light or tail lights, you can do the airbox mod or replace stock air box with performance air filter with adapter will fit right on...

I would 1st remove and paint the bezels around the fog lights and in the bumper. Make them gloss black. Kyron Fusion is a good spray paint for painting plastics

Thats a good idea... I already have some gloss black fusion to do my fading plastic door panels with...

Auto antennas are just something else to break. Save your money. I actually scored one of those shorty antennas off eBay for cheap and it looks cool without any issue with reception. Then again I haven't turned on AM or FM for years so I don't really need an antenna.

Pinstripes, matching the trim color? If you have a steady hand, you can do it yourself, and get the stripes at Walmart, or an auto parts store.

Also, when you wash/wax the truck, be sure to use a good tire treatment. Clean, shiny wheels/tires make anything look better; especially a black vehicle.
Another little trick, when you wax the body, also wax the glass. Seriously, assuming you're not using a "colored" wax. It works like Rain-x, but better; and it lasts longer. It also makes the glass look cleaner/shinier. Just be sure to buff it out really good to avoid streaks/smearing.

Nice looking explorer. Mine is an '02 XLT and doesn't have fog lights on it so I'm thinking about adding those. The tow hooks are a nice addition too so I may search ebay for a set. I'm hoping for heated mirrors in my future too. I really kinda wanted to add OEM options that my explorer doesnt have (since it seems to have quite a few options). A reverse sensing system in the rear bumper is out of the question and I'm not going to cut a hole for a sun roof but I was hoping a message console was something that could be added.
What other cool things are people doing? (I'm not lifting it or going with big offroad mods)

I did mine with Krylon Fusion and they came out great!

There is an alternative to the signal mirrors I installed that should allow you to keep the heated mirrors:

I know, you're the one who gave me the idea to do it.... I live in Florida so the weather is right, I'm going to try and get them painted sometime this week and I'll post pics on your other thread when I'm finished...

Through one of the links you posted I can get heated signal mirrors for 150$, so I'm just going to save up for that....

I'm also going to take the plastic steps off the running boards and back bumper and have them sprayed with rubberized truck bed liner. And I'm removing the center seat from my 2nd row to make it easier to get around in there. The 2 new buckle ends are going to cost me 75 bucks... Pics of those too once I'm done...

Why do you need heated mirrors in FL?
