I have been putting off changing my wife's coolant
The thousands of threads on burping the system

THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY

This is what I came up with
Hope this helps someone some day
This mod cost me $5.39 and about a hour
I put a flat spot on the coolant pipe with a hammer

Just feed the hose into a soda bottle above the rad
And fill till coolant comes out then disconnect the hose done
Works mint
I used a schrader valve with 1/8 NPT threads
Thermostat housing rtv ...gray...
11/32 drill and 1/8 npt tap

I drilled and taped off the truck

****. Lots of motorcycles have that. Nice mod.

It works so well
We were able to completely fill the system without even starting the engine
Imagine filling up your coolant and burping the system in the time it takes to pour the coolant into the funnel

Excellent mod. I never had a lot of trouble burping the V8, but the Subaru was always brutal. It had a bleeder but it must have not been in a reasonable place.

I always use a Q drill for 1/8NPT, although the chart typically calls for an R. I’ve put at least 5,000 of these into aluminum. The trick with aluminum is WD40 believe it or not. I know it’s a solvent, but it’s the very best thing to tap aluminum with.

Since your such a solid member I’ll gladly send you a complete letter set of bits, and some other goodies if you cover the shipping. You don’t need them often, but once in a great while it’s a great trick to be able to pull out of your box. PM me if interested.

Makes you wonder why they don't install cooling system bleeders on all vehicles.
Does your thermostat also have a jiggle valve?

Yes sir I'm using the 167 degree stat you suggested

This mod is holding up great
No leaks I have used it to change fluid an a few other times
I don't even have to start the truck all the coolant that comes out goes rite back in
Couldn't have asked for better results very happy
I definitely recommend
